It’s that time of the year again when Sunny leaves her amazing natural life for a day or two back in the world of people for her annual vet check. We’re always happy to see her and her buddy Newt, and she was looking pretty good! The haul went smoothly, (thank you Hilary!), and Sunny was a pretty impressive girl. Always a good thing when the catching and loading goes smoothly!
Once vet day started, Sunny waited calmly with only a little bit of calling to Newt while he was being checked out and sedated for his dental. With the process now familiar to her, Sunny quieted down pretty quickly while she anticipated her turn to meet the vet. It went well!
Sunny was very accepting of our vet and her wellness exam, vaccines and
sedation went without a problem. We also checked Sunny’s microchip out and it’s still detectable after all these years, so no need for a new one!
Then it was time to relax and wait for the sedation to kick in, (I always hate this part!), but before we knew it, those teeth were being worked on, and Sunny handled the sedation well. (For some reason I never got a pic of her wearing the dental gear!) Nothing unexpected was found and it wasn’t too long before the dental was finished. Next up was having her hoofs trimmed before the sedation wore off! Sunny has a very strong opinion about her hind legs being handled so, for everyone’s safety, sedation is the way to go. Pleased to share that her trim was drama free!
With everything all finished up, the only thing left to do was recover from the sedation and get those newly trimmed hoofs soundly back beneath her.
