grace, our sweet sanctuary mare

Grace came to Blue Horse Rescue in October 2019. Grace had been found wandering alone near Black Butte Lake. Luckily a kind women found her and posted her on Facebook to see if anyone recognized her. Unfortunately, no one stepped forward and with any info on this lone mare. It was soon after that Grace found herself at the local animal control with a five day hold until she would be euthanized. It was critical that we find a safe spot for this senior mare to land. Happily one of our amazing BHR foster moms stepped up and Grace was safe again.

Grace was then adopted and life was very good. Life however, threw her a curve and once again Grace is back with Blue Horse Rescue.

Grace is a senior mare guessed to be in her late 20s. She has been trained and we believe she was worked hard. She is kind and sweet, and enjoys being with the herd. While not a riding horse Grace would be a great companion horse.

After much consideration, it was decided that Grace would be a permanent sanctuary horse with Blue Horse Rescue and will live her days out with us.
